Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Baltimore County
BREAKING: Weather officials say 60 mph winds were detected by radar near Reisterstown.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northwestern Baltimore County until 4:45 p.m.
Radar detected 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail over Reisterstown at 4:11 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm was moving northeast of Pikesville at 20 mph, official said.

During the severe thunderstorm warning period, winds may cause trees and large branches to fall, injuring people outside as well as damaging homes and vehicles.
Roads could become blocked by fallen trees, and power outages are possible.

These areas are under the severe thunderstorm warning, officials say: Cockeysville, Owings Mills, Reisterstown, Mays Chapel, Timonium, Lutherville-Timonium, Garrison, Glencoe, Hunt Valley, Glyndon, Sparks, Boring, Bentley Springs, Parkton, Phoenix, Hereford, Jacksonville, Butler and Monkton.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m., and a flash flood watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 5 p.m. for these areas:
- Northwestern Baltimore City
- Southwestern Baltimore County
- Southeastern Carroll County
- Northeastern Howard County
A severe thunderstorm was over Sykesville at 4:20 p.m. and was moving east at 30 mph.
There were 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, officials said.
