Storm Damages Foundry Centre Apartments: Report

An apartment building lost a wall, and a tree was ripped up off Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills after the storm Wednesday night.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — An apartment building in Owings Mills is evidence of the severe weather that hit the region Wednesday night. There is a hole in the Foundry Centre Apartments on Garrison View Road.

Severe thunderstorms with 60 mph gusts were on a line from near Gamber to Owings Mills to Woodlawn, moving northeast, the National Weather Service reported at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.

The agency issued a severe thunderstorm warning that advised people to go inside to stay safe.

Lightning struck the apartment complex off Reisterstown Road, according to WBAL, which reported a hole was left in the side of the building, which was condemned as a result.

Tenants at the building were moved into hotels, according to Fox 45.

A tree was also uprooted in Wednesday's storm, according to ABC 2 News.
