Simulated Explosive Device Closed Security Boulevard: Police
A bus driver noticed a suspicious item, prompting a temporary closure of Security Boulevard Thursday afternoon, officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police said a Maryland Transit Administration bus driver located a suspicious item in Baltimore County Thursday afternoon. As a result, Security Boulevard was closed for about 20 minutes as authorities investigated.
The object was an "inert simulated explosive device used for training purposes," the Baltimore County Police Department reported at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10. Officials added that roads would be reopening in the area soon.
At 1:30 p.m., police had reported Rolling Road was closed during the investigation at Security Boulevard.

What prompted the probe was a bus driver who notified authorities after seeing a suspicious object in a gutter near a bus stop in the area, according to Fox 45.
Businesses nearby were evacuated while the bomb squad investigated, WMAR reported.
