Three Owings Mills High Students Make County Honors Bands

Students made the jazz band and vocal jazz choir.

Three Owings Mills High School seniors passed auditions for Baltimore County Honors Jazz Ensembles last weekend.

Seniors Bryant Thompson and Josh Miller made honors jazz band on drum set/percussion and piano, respectively, and Timothy “T.J.” Williams made honors vocal jazz choir as a tenor, according to Becky Alvarado, an OMHS ESOL teacher and the school's public relations chair.

“These are the hardest county ensembles to get into as they are the smallest and have the most rigorous audition requirements,” Alvarado said in an email. “Not only did all three students make their respective ensembles, but all three placed as first chair in their sections. This is the equivalent of being ranked number one on their instruments for jazz.”
