Voices of Peace: Children’s Chorus of Maryland Annual Holiday

Children’s Chorus of Maryland & School of Music celebrates its 43rd annual holiday concert, Voices of Peace, on Sunday, December 2nd, at 3 pm at the Gordon Center for the Performing Arts in Owings Mills. With the guiding theme Voices of Peace, the three choirs will present musical selections that emphasize the need and yearning for peace, recognizing the gentle presence of peace in the world and between people. The repertoire will welcome the holiday of Hannukah, anticipate the celebration of Christmas and find beauty and peace in all that is the month of December. Composers to include Hildegard von Bingen, Claude Debussy, Bob Chilcott, Mark Patterson, Nancy Grundahl, PINKZEBRA, Flory Jagoda and David Eddelman. Reception for performers, friends, family, and audience members to follow the concert.

Children’s Chorus of Maryland is one of the oldest programs for choral music education and performance in the United States. Celebrating its 43rd season and now under the direction of Artistic Director Susan Bialek, the music Conservatory program features highly qualified teachers, small classes, and in-depth vocal enrichment to provide children with a complete musical education and choral experience. Previous Lyric and Concert Choir students have had the opportunity to participate in televised broadcasts, tour internationally and perform at well-known regional and national venues including Carnegie Hall, Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and the White House. The music school and choral performance program are located near downtown Towson at 320 East Towsontown Boulevard.

Tickets for Voices of Peace are $15.00 for students and seniors (65+). Tickets for adults range from $17.00 to $28.00 depending on location. Children under age 5 cannot be admitted due to live recording. Wheelchair accessible seating is available upon request. Please call our office at 410-494-1480 for more information.
