Walmart To Close In Owings Mills
The Walmart in Owings Mills will reportedly close this month.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — The Walmart in Owings Mills is slated for closure.
The store will close its doors for good Wednesday, June 30, according to Councilman Julian Jones, who represents the area.
Jones called the closure "unfortunate news" that he attributed to the corporation.

"Similar to when Sam’s Club closed its door sporadically, these decisions aren’t caused by lack of customers or patronization, but are simply corporate decisions," Jones said.
Sam's Club closed in January 2018 at the same location, at which point Walmart — its parent company — expanded its footprint there.

A spokesperson for Walmart told WBFF the company was "devastated" that the property owner would not renew its lease, which it cited as the reason for the closure of the Owings Mills Walmart, which employs more than 200 people.
Until the closure, the store's hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the signs, shared by Jones.
Signs on the doors at 9750 Reisterstown Road show the service desk is closed and can no longer process money center transactions.
Said Jones: "The county stands ready to assist those who lost their jobs with other job opportunities during this challenging time."
