RESTAURANTS: Italian eatery Ristorante Firenze in Reisterstown is open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day. Chains like Applebee’s, Denny’s, IHOP and Subway will also be open.
GROCERY: Most Giant, Rite Aid and Safeway stores will be open for select hours on Christmas. Call ahead.

LIBRARIES: Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s.
Baltimore County Public Library branches will be open on New Year’s Eve, closing at 5:30 p.m.
TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION: There will be pickup as usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
There will not be trash or recycling collection on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
COUNTY OFFICES: On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, all courts, county offices, senior centers and the landfill will be open. Courts, county offices, libraries, senior centers and the landfill plus trash/recycling pickup will not be operating on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION: Residents can drop off their Christmas trees themselves starting Saturday, December 26, 2015, to any one of the county’s three drop-off locations. Lights, decorations, tinsel, tree stands and any other trimmings must be removed from the trees before they will be accepted.
The county will do curbside collection of Christmas trees starting Monday, Jan. 11. Trees must be put out no later Saturday, Jan. 16.
