Winter Storm Watch Issued For 10 MD Counties
The commute may be slippery in parts of Maryland multiple times this week, according to the National Weather Service.
MARYLAND — Snow is expected in parts of Maryland on two days this week, according to the National Weather Service.
While parts of central and western Maryland may see snowfall Monday, the Baltimore-Washington area could also see accumulations Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for parts of north central and northeast Maryland Wednesday due to the potential for more than 8 inches of snowfall.

The watch is from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday for Allegany, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Washington counties.
During the watch period, travel may be very difficult, particularly from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Before then, Frederick and Carroll counties are under a winter weather advisory from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. Forecasters anticipate 1 to 3 inches of snow in Carroll County and 2 to 5 inches in the Catoctin Mountains.
Rain will fall early Monday morning and change to snow by 9 to 11 a.m., with the heaviest period of snow late morning through early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Pedestrians should watch their steps outside on stairs, sidewalks and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, the winter weather advisory states.
Drivers should slow down and plan on slippery road conditions, especially in higher elevations, as visibility may be below 1 miles at times when snow is falling Monday.
Allegany and Washington counties are under a separate winter weather advisory from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday. About 1 to 2 inches of snow may fall in the valleys with 2 to 4 inches in the ridges above 1,000 feet, according to the advisory.

Here is the forecast for Baltimore-Washington region, according to the National Weather Service:
Monday: A chance of rain after 5 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 42 and low around 29. North wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between 0.75 and 1 inch possible.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 42 and low around 27. Northwest wind around 6 mph.
Wednesday: Snow likely between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., then rain and snow. The rain-snow mix will turn to all snow after midnight. High near 37 degrees and low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
Thursday: A chance of snow from midnight to 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 38 and low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38 and low near 22.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42 and low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
