Woman Charged in Owings Mills Parking Lot Incident
Carole Sue Bassette was arrested on Dec. 18 in connection with an attempted robbery in the Owings Mills Square parking lot.
A 27-year-old woman is charged with second-degree assault and robbery in connection with a November incident in the Owings Mills Square parking lot.
Carole Sue Bassette, of no fixed address, was arrested on Dec. 18 when police saw her panhandling in the 10000 block of Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills. She was charged on a warrant and is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson after her bail hearing, according to Lt. Stephen Doarnberger, assistant commander of the Baltimore County Police’s Franklin Precinct.
On Nov. 18 at 6:10 p.m., Bassette banged on the car door of an 18-year-old female and demanded money in the parking lot of Owings Mills Square, according to police. The shopping center is home to Best Buy and Chik-fil-A.

Bassette banged on the car door, tried to open it and said “give me your f***ing money,” according to a police report. The victim left the scene and called police.
Bassette has a criminal past, according to Lt. Rick Landsman of the Baltimore County Police Franklin Precinct.
