5 Parkville-Area Students Inducted Into College Honor Society

Seventy-eight students were inducted into Stevenson University's chapter of Alpha Chi for their academic achievements during the 2012-13 school year.

Five Parkville-area residents were among the 78 students inducted into Stevenson University's Chapter of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society.

Joshua Cannella of Parkville, Katelyn Ensminger of Rosedale, and Lindsey Ford, Gabriella Forte and Donald Gibson, all of Nottingham, were inducted based upon their grades for the 2012-13 school year, according to university spokeswoman Morgan Somerville.

Alpha Chi is a student-led, multi-disciplinary national honor society that accepts only the top academic performers into its ranks, according to a statement from the university.

Membership in the organization gives students the opportunity to take leadership roles both at the local and national levels of society organization. They can become members of the the governing board and have the opportunity to share their learning and research at national conventions and through two Alpha Chi scholarly publications that focus on student work, according to the statement.
