Club Night Canceled, Town Fair Date, Officer Rescues Dogs

All you need to know to get you through Thursday, August 8.

It's Thursday, August 8. Here's all you need to know.

Weather: Well, it was a good run, but it's been too nice for August—expect the gray days to continue. This forecast shows a chance of thunderstorms and humidity moving in through Saturday. Sunday, though, looks to be just partly cloudy.

What You're Saying: Your neighbors are talking about a decision by Skateland to cancel an upcoming "club night".

"Kudos to all who made this happen, but it's just the cancellation of the Aug. 16 club night event (a mere band-aid on a cut) so that all parties can take a breather and have a time-out," wrote Ray Bruns. Read his full comment on this story.

Got something you want to say? Something you want to sell? Post it on our boards or leave a comment on a story! Who knows? Maybe we'll feature it in one of these round-ups.

What's Happening? Mark your calendars: the Parkville Patch Editor Nick Gestido's Birthday Party Fair... ahem... the Parkville Towne Center Fair is scheduled for Sept. 7 this year, and they're bringing in food trucks. Two vendor spaces are still available, according to this post.

Got an event you're trying to promote? Whether it's registration for little league or a show your band is playing, a great way to start would be adding it to the Parkville-Overlea Patch events calendar.

What Did You Miss? There's a possibility you missed this story I wrote for Hunt Valley-Cockeysville Patch about an officer who went above and beyond to save two abandoned dogs, and the family who took them in.

Who Beat The Odds? If somehow you have a $425M winner in last night's Powerball drawing, you did. How bad were they? Worse than your chances of being attacked by a shark, among other things. Check out this article from North Baltimore Patch.
