Collectors Corner Set for Free Comic Book Day Saturday

The yearly event brings thousands to the Harford Road comic book shop.

If you're driving through Parkville Saturday, don't be too surprised if you see Batman.

Or Spiderman, or any other superhero (or heroine) standing on the side of Harford Road waving to traffic.

Parkville's Collectors Corner, 7911 Harford Road, hosts a Free Comic Book Day celebration from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. May 4. Stop by the store to check out any of 56 comics available for free.

While you're there, you can also check out local arts and crafts outside the newly expanded store and meet comic book artists and creators like Cary Nord (Conan, Daredevil), Mark Hempel (Sandman), Greg LaRoque (Web of Spiderman), Joe Keatinge (Glory, Amazing Spiderman) and Brandon Seifert (Witch Doctor, Doctor Who).

If the sequential art, stories and storytellers aren't enough to pique your curiosity bear in mind there will also be free pizza.

And across Harford Road at Shockwave Records, they'll be giving away vinyl as part of Free Record Day, according to a post on their Facebook page.
