Dog Found On Belair Road On Fourth Of July
Did you lose your dog on the Fourth of July? Police found him on Belair Road, and he needs your help to get bailed out of animal services.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police officers picked up a runaway on the Fourth of July near Parkville and are hoping someone can help identify him. Can you reunite this four-legged fellow with his family?
The dark-colored pooch was roaming Belair Road/US 1 just north of Interstate 695 when he was found on Thursday, July 4, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
He is not alone in his plight. The days surrounding the Fourth of July are among the busiest for animal shelters nationwide, according to the American Kennel Club.

Here's an excerpt from the police report officers issued about the runaway around 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 4:
"This sweet lil' old male pit/lab mix is sad because he's about to miss the fireworks with his family!"

He is described as a mixed breed dog who has been neutered, according to the shelter's lost pets page. Staff at the shelter confirmed the dog listed under the name "Wollmaki" with the animal ID animal number ACIMP-2019-03610 was picked up at the Parkville precinct on July 4.
Go to the shelter at 13800 Manor Road Baldwin, MD 21013. You can also call Baltimore County Animal Services at 410-887-7297. Hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Here are some tips to keep pets safe during fireworks and other events:
- Put ID tags on your pet that include your contact information affixed to the collar.
- Exercise dogs before festivities; think longer walks or more play time than usual.
- Leave dogs at home during fireworks displays.
- Play music, turn on the TV or run a fan to muffle the noise of fireworks.
- Keep your pet confined to an interior room if having an event where doors may be opening to the outside, such as a barbecue.
