Essex Library Branch to Close Temporarily

The branch will be undergoing renovations, Baltimore County Public Library reports.

The Essex branch of the Baltimore County Public Library will close for two months this fall for planned renovations, according to a statement from the Baltimore County Public Library.

The $415,000 renovation project includes new paint and carpet, an updated information desk, new computers and new shelving to house more materials, the statement said.

Officials anticipate the library branch on Eastern Boulevard will close Oct. 1 and reopen Dec. 1.

If people have placed holds on materials, and those materials are picked up by Sept. 30, they will be available at the North Point Branch.

Essex drop boxes will be closed during the renovations. Library patrons can make returns at any other Baltimore County Public Library branch.

Baltimore County Public Library encourages citizens to use nearby library branches like North Point, Sollers Point, Rosedale and White Marsh, which are accessible by public transit from Essex.
