National #GivingTuesday at Oak Crest Has Local Focus
Employees of Erickson Living community give back to area charities at annual event.
PARKVILLE, MD — On a day of national purpose, employees of Oak Crest centered the focus close to home.
On November 28, this year also known as #GivingTuesday, the Erickson Living retirement community hosted its annual Day of Giving, providing its 2,100 employees with a platform to contribute to local charities that support the surrounding community. They took advantage of this opportunity by sharing their time during four town hall meetings held during the day and evening.
Among the non-profit organizations supported were Toys for Tots (sponsored by General Services Department), Luna’s House Animal Care & Education Center (sponsored by the Erickson Way Committee), East Side Family Emergency Shelter (sponsored by Human Resources/Employee Health & Wellness) and the Parkville Food Bank/Victor’s Vittles (sponsored by the Dining Services Department).

“We are proud of our employees for their active participation at this year’s Day of Giving,” stated Ms. Tina Kummelman, Director of Human Resources. “These organizations that our teams elected to support have year-round needs. We hope that our Day of Giving not only provides a short-term boost to their respective missions, but also creates lasting partnerships.”
