Parkville Crime: Cornered Burglar Escapes With Purse

Moreland Avenue, 3100 block. Between 11:30 p.m. July 22 and 6:30 a.m. July 23. Burglars tried to break into a home by removing a window screen but were unable to open the locked window.

Putty Hill Avenue, 3200 block. At 3:24 a.m. July 23. A woman was awakened by her dog barking in the kitchen and found a man in the laundry room. The man climbed out a window and ran off upon being spotted. The victim discovered that a black Coach purse containing cash, cards and makeup was stolen.
Linwood Avenue, 3000 block. Between 6:45 and 10:15 p.m. July 22. A burglar broke into a home through an unlocked rear porch window. Nothing was stolen or damaged.
