Parkville Man Charged for Villa Cresta Elementary Gun Incident

Parents reported seeing the man running across a school field carrying a gun.

A Parkville man has been charged after parents at Villa Cresta Elementary School reported seeing him on school grounds with a gun Monday afternoon.

Robert Cleary, 30, of the 2500 block of Perring Woods Road, was charged Wednesday with disturbing school operations, possessing a dangerous weapon on school grounds and trespassing on school grounds in connection with the incident, according to a Baltimore County poice release.

Investigation revealed that Cleary allegedly cut across school property to meet a friend at the intersection of Ardmore and Rader avenues so he could get a lift to a nearby pawn shop. Police said he pawned a Civil War era rifle, which has since been recovered.
