Point Breeze Credit Union Awards $22,500 in College Scholarships to 15 High School Students

Point Breeze Credit Union announces the recipients of its tenth annual scholarship program.

Point Breeze Credit Union announces the recipients of its tenth annual scholarship program. Fifteen (15) high school students were awarded scholarships of $1,500 each towards his or her higher education.

Candidates for this program were required to illustrate great academic and extracurricular ambition in school and the community and be a member of Point Breeze Credit Union. This year’s essay question asked students to think about their career goals and what they anticipate their first job’s starting salary to be. With this in mind, applicants were asked to outline their short term (1-2 years) and long-term (5 years plus) financial goals and submit a monthly budget based on expected salary and anticipated expenses. A selection committee evaluated each application based on academic excellence, involvement in school and community activities, leadership skills, initiative and the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

The 2016 Point Breeze Credit Union Scholarship winners are:
