Town Hall To Address Budget, Communities

The Baltimore County town hall meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 7.

From Baltimore County: Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski is holding a series of town hall meetings in every council district. The town halls will focus on a discussion about the county's budget, future budget priorities, the current fiscal climate, and issues facing communities. The town hall meeting for the Sixth District will occur on Thursday February 7th at 6:30 p.m. at McCormick Elementary School located at 5101 Hazelwood Avenue, Baltimore MD 21206.

The County Executive will make a presentation about the County budget and budget process and then there will be time for questions and answers. This is your opportunity to provide input into the county's budget and other issues facing your community.I welcome this dialog with the community. Local government is about working directly in the community to solve problems. It is always important to hear from members of the community about the challenges and issues they face and how local government can help solve them.I have posted information below about the county budget and budget process. Under the County Charter, the County Executive presents the budget to the County Council for their consideration and approval. The Council only has the power to cut funds from the budget. It does not have the authority to add funds or move funds around. The Council will hold several budget hearings with various County Departments to ensure that those departments have the resources they need to make Baltimore County a great place to live, work and play.I look forward to seeing on Thursday February 7th at 6:30 p.m. at McCormick Elementary School. If you are unable to attend in person, the town hall will be streamed live on both the Baltimore County and my County Council Facebook pages.
