2 New Restaurants Open On The Avenue At White Marsh

WHITE MARSH, MD — Two new restaurants have opened in The Avenue at White Marsh. They are operating as one unit called "The Curious Oyster and Wayward Smokehouse" operated by White Oak Hospitality.

The Curious Oyster features seafood with "culinary twists," according to the owners.

Wayward Smokehouse's offerings are more along the lines of barbecue and comfort food, with a southern influence.

The dual concept restaurant and bar is in the place where Don Pablo's used to be; that restaurant closed in November 2018.

Both Wayward Smokehouse and The Curious Oyster opened Wednesday, Oct. 16, with modified hours and will be open for dinner only Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Lunch and dinner will be available starting Saturday, Oct.19, and Sunday, Oct. 20.

"We can’t wait for you to see our full menu, try all of our whimsical seafood options, get to know our staff, and enjoy the space we have been so diligently working on," The Curious Oyster posted on its Facebook page opening day.

Some items on The Curious Oyster menu include tuna tartar, lobster pot pie, cast-iron octopus and crab grilled cheese. There's a po-boy with fried oyster or shrimp or both featuring pickled mustard seeds, kimchi mayo and shredded lettuce. Non seafood options are also on the menu, with offerings such as Roseda Farms filet mignon and fried chicken. There's also an $8 kids menu that includes mac and cheese with hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, fish sticks and grilled cheese.

Wayward Smokehouse has a bar with cocktails, draft beer and wine as well as pulled pork, short ribs, honey mustard brussels sprouts, wings, New York strip steak, buffalo chicken salad, biscuits, burgers and more. It also has a brunch menu with avocado toast, steak and eggs, pancakes and a brisket biscuit, among other offerings.

The Curious Oyster and Wayward Smokehouse are at 8161 Honeygo Blvd, Nottingham, MD 21236.

Hours listed for The Curious Oyster are 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m.–1 a.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m.–11 p.m. Sunday. Wayward Smokehouse hours are posted as 11 a.m.–2 a.m. daily.
