2 Perry Hall Students Named 2020 Carson Scholars
The Perry Hall students will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship in recognition of their academic and humanitarian work.
PERRY HALL, MD — Two Perry Hall students received the honor of being named 2020 Carson Scholars. The scholarship program recognizes students who have a track record of academic excellence and participation in community service.
Students had to be nominated by a current educator. Only one student from each school could be nominated.
Recognized Carson Scholars can renew their Carson Scholar status by maintaining high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities.

Here are the recognized Carson Scholars for 2020 from Perry Hall:
- Richard Garriques, III, Grade: 11; Perry Hall High School
- Diana Tran, Grade: 12; Perry Hall High School
Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service.

Carson Scholars receive a $1,000 college scholarship award, an Olympic-sized medal and a trophy for their school.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and humanitarian qualities without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion.
