Amazon Leases Part Of White Marsh Mall Parking Lot
Have you noticed a bunch of Amazon trucks parked near White Marsh Mall? Here's why.

WHITE MARSH, MD — If you noticed a fleet of Amazon vehicles outside White Marsh Mall, it is not just you.
Amazon has leased part of the parking lot outside Sears, according to the Baltimore Business Journal, which reports it is part of the e-commerce company's expansion efforts as it works to deliver packages to central Maryland.
At the end of June, Amazon announced it was securing locations in Edgewood, Glen Burnie, Upper Marlboro, Hagerstown, Waldorf, Hanover and Lanham, where it could sort packages before they were taken out for delivery, according to WJZ.

The goal is to move packages more efficiently from fulfillment centers to delivery.
Sears does not need the parking lot, since the store shuttered in April as the company reduces its brick-and-mortar footprint.
