Police are investigating a homicide in the Wilkens precinct after a passerby saw a body lying on the side of the road, near some thick brush. 30-year-old Orlando Carranza-Portillo suffered from gunshot wounds to his body.

Detectives responded to the scene on Hammonds Ferry Road at the Anne Arundel County line just after 11 a.m. on May 22, 2021.

Homicide detectives are in the early stages of this investigation and are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary or may have additional information to contact detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.

Reward Offered

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland, an organization that is separate from the Baltimore County Police Department and Baltimore County Government, offers rewards of up to $2,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges in connection with felony offenses.
