Belair Road Gets New Full-Color Traffic Light
The Maryland State Highway Administration installed a new traffic light in Perry Hall after concerns from the community over safety.
PERRY HALL, MD — There's a new traffic signal on US 1/Belair Road in Perry Hall. The Maryland State Highway Administration installed the signal after studying the intersection of Belair Road and Klausmier Road following concerns from the community.
Officials say the full-color traffic signal will enhance safety for drivers in Perry Hall.
Thompson Electric of Aberdeen installed the signal as part of the $131,000 project, which also included new reflective pavement markings at the intersection of Belair Road and Klausmier Road.

According to state highway officials, the traffic signal was activated Monday after signage was put around the intersection. Before it was switched on, the light had been flashing red and yellow.

A traffic study showed the new signal was warranted to improve traffic flow and safety, the State Highway Administration reported.
