Beyond Sausage Sandwich Debuts: Get A Freebie In Perry Hall

PERRY HALL, MD — Dunkin' will debut its new plant-based breakfast item this week. To give people the chance to try it, the chain is giving away complimentary Beyond Sausage Sandwiches Friday and Saturday.

The Beyond Sausage Sandwich appeared at Dunkin' stores Wednesday.

Made without meat, the "sausage" patty is packed with 10 grams of plant-based protein and a mix of spices. It's served up on an English muffin with American cheese and an egg, according to the company.

Compared with a Sausage, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich, the Beyond Sausage Sandwich has 29 percent less fat overall, 33 percent less saturated fat and fewer calories and sodium.

The free Beyond Sausage Sandwich will be available from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday at Dunkin' restaurants nationwide.

Beyond Meat and Impossible are among the two major players in the fake meat market. Between them, they have teamed with a long list of fast-food chains, including Burger King, McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Subway to get their non-meat meats before more consumers.
