Construction Begins at Gough Park

Baltimore County Recreation and Parks officials joined county executive Kevin Kamenetz and members of the Perry Hall community on Tuesday to break ground on the 17-acre Gough Park athletic facility.

"Public parks enhance our lives, and I am delighted to break ground on Gough Park, which will provide the people of Perry Hall with a fun, safe place for their families to play sports, exercise, have a picnic or simply connect with nature," Kamenetz said in a statement.

The park, scheduled to be complete in late 2014, will feature several athletic fields, walking trails, bathrooms and pavilions.

"This open space has been unused since purchased by Baltimore County more than a decade ago, and now it will serve one of our largest recreation councils," said county councilman David Marks in a press release. "I would like to commend County Executive Kamenetz for finding the resources to complete this project in such a challenging economic environment."
