Disney Store To Close In White Marsh Mall

WHITE MARSH, MD — The Disney Store in the White Marsh Mall is closing this March. It is one of two stores on Maryland shuttering as Disney closes 60 stores in North America while it focuses on its online presence.

The White Marsh Mall Disney store is set to close on or before March 23, according to the official Disney Store Locator.

The Disney store at Arundel Mills will also close during the same time period.

“While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” Stephanie Young, head of Disney consumer products, said in a statement.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world," Young said. "We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected ecommerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises."
