Donald Chilcoat, 85, Life Member Of White Marsh VFC
A man who inspired others in the fire service was remembered at the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company with a funeral service.

Donald L. Chilcoat died Sept. 24. He was 85.
Chilcoat was a life member of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company. In 2013, the fire company recognized him with an award for superior leadership. When the organization shared news of his passing on its Facebook page, people shared their memories of him, saying he was "an icon," a role model, "a great man and one of the hardest workers I’ve met" and "loved by all. They don't make them like this anymore."
Known as "Daddy Don," Chilcoat dedicated more than 70 years to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company. His service started back when it was called the Cowenton Fire Company, which formed after World War II and changed its name to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company in the 21st century to reflect the community it serves.
