First Baby of the Year Born at Franklin Square
There were five babies born New Year's morning at Franklin Square, hospital officials said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A boy born at 12:01 a.m. at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center was Maryland's first baby of 2017, according to the hospital. Heather Breakall delivered a 7-pound, 4-ounce boy just after midnight, the first of five newborns at the medical center the morning of Jan. 1.
"It is a Happy New Year indeed!" the medical center posted on its Facebook page, along with pictures of Breakall, fiancé Mike Butrim, their new baby boy and big brother Noah.
"...he is here and he's healthy," Breakall told WJZ of her new baby, who had not yet been named. When he showed up a week early, she said she was both "overwhelmed and excited" by his New Year's Day birth.
