Flash Flood Warning Issued For Baltimore County

BREAKING: Parts of Baltimore County are under a flash flood warning Sunday night.

BALTIMORE, MD — With an inch of rain already reported in some areas and another 1 to 2 inches possible, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Baltimore County. The warning is in effect until 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

Radar showed thunderstorms with heavy rain across the area before 7:45 p.m. that could lead to flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Flash flooding is a rapid rise in water level that may be life-threatening.

Officials advise staying cautious at night, when it is more difficult to see, and to turn around — don't drown — if encountering flooded roads.

These areas may flood, the warning states: Middle River, North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Back River, Millers Island, Dundalk, Essex, Rosedale, Rossville, White Marsh, Bowleys Quarters, Edgemere, Nottingham, Fort Howard, Eastpoint, Martin State Airport, Turners Station and Chase.
