GreenDrop Coming To Perry Hall

Perry Hall will soon have a new hub for donations, near White Marsh Mall.

PERRY HALL, MD — There's a new addition coming to the area around White Marsh Mall.

A GreenDrop donation center will be accepting clothing, electronics, linens, household items, games, toys, sporting goods, kitchenware and other items.

The organization has more than 30 donation centers in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.

At each one, an attendant works at the trailer or location to facilitate the donation process.

"This type of business is far preferable to the unmanned boxes that accumulate piles of donations," Councilman David Marks, who represents Perry Hall, said in a statement. "With GreenDrop, each site is manned with workers. Hopefully, this type of operation will significantly cut down on dumping."

Unacceptable items include large appliances, books, hangers, large furniture, televisions, tube computer monitors and bed frames.

Once donations are collected, GreenDrop gives them to charities including the American Red Cross, National Federation of the Blind, Purple Heart and St. Vincent de Paul.

GreenDrop also offers a concierge service to help residents who are attempting a full-house cleanout due to a move or change in living situation.
