Gunpowder Among Region's Best Waterfalls: Thrillist

The rapids in Gunpowder Falls State Park made it onto the top 10 list.

A special spot near Perry Hall made it onto Thrillist's list of best waterfalls to visit this summer.

The outlet, which bills itself as a lifestyle resource, culled together its picks for waterfalls within two hours of Washington, D.C., and Gunpowder Falls made the cut.

"After a rainstorm, the smaller rapids of Gunpowder Falls tend to increase in size and and speed, becoming larger 'falls,'" according to Thrillist. "Walk in about a mile alongside the river before you reach a semi-deep pool created by torrents. Be careful: the rocks are extremely slippery, but this really is a great spot for a picnic if you can find a rock that's large enough."
