Hello, Perry Hall: Meet Your New Patcher

Former Lutherville-Timonium Patch editor Nick DiMarco is now editing Perry Hall Patch.

I realize I'm not the first to exclaim outloud that it's going to be tremendously hard to fill the petite shoes of my former colleague Emily Kimball. But I promise you, Perry Hall, it's my No. 1 priority.

My name is Nick DiMarco, and as of today, I am your new Perry Hall Patch reporter. And I can't wait to get started.

It's hard to express how excited I am to be at the helm of a community that is as connected as Perry Hall. Please consider me a conduit for making your lives ridiculously easy.

But first, a little about me.

I graduated from Towson University not too long ago with a degree in mass communication, a certificate in broadcast journalism and a concentration in new media journalism.

After spending two months in sweat pants (sleeping on my parents' couch) I was hired at MarylandReporter.com, covering the Maryland General Assembly.

I graduated from Annapolis to Timonium, where I launched Lutherville-Timonium Patch in conjunction with the Maryland State Fair, which featured Justin Bieber in 2010. True story. I might be the only 25-year-old to brag about having to sneak into a Bieber concert, past 70 security guards. But I digress.

I'm going to miss Timonium, but I'm doubly excited to be helping out in Perry Hall. It's no secret that it's going to be hard to live up to the standards set by my predecessor Emily Kimball, who was as talented in journalism as she was driven by her desire to inform her hometown.

I pledge to work as hard as she did, while adding a few unique concepts to my Perry Hall coverage.

Among my plans to add to Perry Hall news include:

  • Increased sports coverage at both Perry Hall High School and the Perry Hall Rec Council.
  • More restaurant-related news. (I've held every position in a restaurant, shy of manager.)
  • More videos!
  • More Twitter!

But this is Patch and we serve our readers, nee website users. So I want to know from you.

Tell me what you would like to know more about. Tell me what you like reported on most? Pitch me stories at nickd@patch.com. Help me, help you.

I'm looking forward to writing and editing in Perry Hall. We have some amazing stories set to publish this week. Be sure to not miss out on any Perry Hall hoopla by signing up for my daily newsletter, or following my Facebook and/or Twitter account.

Or better yet, create your own news by starting a blog.

If you ever want to chat, don't hesitate to give me a call at 443-621-2174.

I guarantee, you'll see me soon.

Best regards,

Nick DiMarco
