Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Cleared From I-95 Near White Marsh

Traffic was snarled Friday afternoon due to a crash on Interstate 95 near White Marsh that involved a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A jackknifed tractor-trailer snarled traffic for about two hours Friday afternoon on Interstate 95 south near White Marsh, according to officials.

By 3:15 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported the crash had cleared from I-95 south. The single-vehicle crash was reported before 1:15 p.m.

A tractor-trailer jackknifed past the exit for White Marsh Boulevard/MD 43 Friday afternoon, according to Maryland State Police, who advised before 2 p.m. that lanes were "expected to be closed for some time."

Troopers said the cause of the crash was unknown and advised drivers to take US 1, MD 7 or US 40. Police said the express toll lanes remain open.

Traffic was bumper-to-bumper at 2:30 p.m.

All lanes had reopened, and traffic was flowing smoothly as of 3:30 p.m., according to traffic cameras.

This was the second jackknifed tractor-trailer to cause tie-ups on I-95 in the Baltimore area Friday. Earlier, a tractor-trailer jackknifed on I-95 south near Eastern Avenue near Baltimore City.
