Jericho Bridge Restoration To Begin Late 2013
The renovations are expected to last through most of 2014 and cause detours in the Kingsville area.

The historic Jericho Covered Bridge, which connects Baltimore and Harford counties in Kingsville, will benefit from a series of extensive repairs beginning at the end of 2013.
Enhancements to the bridge will include replacing deteriorating timbers and applying to the bridge flame retardant and anti-graffiti coating, according to a notice from Councilman David Marks.
"This project is important to the long-term stability of both a local bridge and historic icon in northeastern Baltimore County," Marks wrote in a release. "It is hard to imagine Kingsville without this beautiful wooden bridge."

The project will cost $2 million, funded by a grant through the Federal Highway Administration National Historic Covered Bridge Preservation Program. The Jericho Bridge, built in 1865 and spans the Little Gunpowder, is only one of six covered bridges in Maryland, according to the release.
Both Baltimore and Harford counties will cover supplemental funding for the bridge to the tune of $80,000.
