Morning Single-Vehicle Accident Delays Traffic on MD-43 Exit
An elderly driver crashed into the Jersey barriers on both sides of the White Marsh exit from the Inner Loop.
An elderly man crashed his sedan into the Jersey barrier of the MD Route 43 Exit off of the Inner Loop, prompting Maryland State Police to block the exit for several minutes for safety Wednesday morning.
The driver had been swerving between the left and middle lanes leading up to the exit, at times driving off the highway an onto the shoulder, Patch observed Wednesday morning.

At about 9:50 a.m., the driver crashed into the left Jersey barrier, damaging the front-end of his gold Ford Taurus. The driver continued onto the exit where he eventually lost control of his vehicle and crossed over three lanes, finally careening into the right Jersey barrier where his car came to a stop, Patch witnessed.Â
Multiple eye-witnesses, including a Patch editor, called Maryland State Police for help.

The driver said he was taking his passenger, an elderly woman, to a doctor's appointment. Neither appeared to have suffered major injuries.
A Maryland State Police trooper responded to the scene where the car was fully stopped with two flat tires, partially blocking the right lane.
Calls to Maryland State Police Barracks—Golden Ring and JFK—yielded no further information.
