Power Out For Hundreds Near Perry Hall After Storm
High water, downed utility poles, a fallen tree and outages have been reported near Perry Hall after severe thunderstorms.
PERRY HALL, MD — Power was out for nearly 3,000 customers in Baltimore County Monday night, according to BGE. Severe thunderstorms also left at least three roads closed in the Perry Hall area, officials reported.
More than 300 of the outages were off Silver Spring Road in Perry Hall, based on the BGE outage map as of 9 p.m., which also showed more than 400 around White Marsh and Middle River.
"Power is out in the entire area, including traffic lights at Route 40 and Ebenezer Road, and our fire station," the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported at 9 p.m.

By Tuesday morning, BGE stated that fewer than 150 people were without power in Baltimore County.

The following roads are closed in the White Marsh area:
- Ebenezer Road is closed between Vincent Road and Vincent Farm Lane because of a downed tree and fallen wires, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.
- US 40 west is closed before Days Cove Road due to downed trees, state highway officials say.
- Route 7 is closed from Bradshaw to Jones roads because of a crash involving utility lines and a tree.
In the crash on Route 7/Philadelphia Road, a tree fell on a vehicle and trapped two people inside, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.
Crews responded at 6:45 p.m. and removed the tree to get to the people in the vehicle, officials said.
First responders from Kingsville, Middle River and White Marsh helped free the driver by taking the tree off the car, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.
After the tree limbs were cleared away, officials said a passenger had her hand trapped between a branch and the vehicle. The passenger was rescued and taken to an area hospital, White Marsh officials reported.
By Tuesday morning, all roads in the area had reopened.

In Perry Hall, high water was also providing challenging conditions for drivers.

A flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. Monday for Baltimore City and Baltimore County, meaning flash flooding is imminent or occurring. Flash flooding is a life-threatening situation in which water levels rapidly rise.
A flash flood watch is effective until 10 p.m. Monday.

A severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning have now been issued by the National Weather Service Monday evening.
The severe thunderstorm warning for Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County and Baltimore County is in effect until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13.
A line of severe thunderstorms was spotted by radar a line from Woodlawn to Ferndale, moving northeast, weather officials say. These storms have reportedly been accompanied by damaging winds in College Park, causing trees and large branches to fall.
Radar showed another thunderstorm over Parkville with gusts of 40 to 50 mph and half-inch hail possible, officials said.
During the severe thunderstorm warning period, people should go inside to stay safe from wind and lightning. Do not drive underneath wooded areas until the threat has passed, as trees and branches may fall. Roads may become blocked by downed trees, and localized power outages are possible, according to the warning.
These areas may be affected, weather officials say: Baltimore, Pikesville, Middle River, Cockeysville, Millers Island, North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Back River, Glen Burnie, Ellicott City, Dundalk, Towson, Catonsville, Essex, Woodlawn, Randallstown, Parkville, Carney, Milford Mill, Perry Hall, Rosedale, Rossville, Timonium, White Marsh, Hampton, Lutherville-Timonium, Lutherville, Glen Arm, Fullerton, Eudowood, Loch Raven Village and Loch Raven.
Flash Flood Warning Until 8:30 p.m.
A flash flood warning is in effect for Baltimore City and Baltimore County, meaning flash flooding is imminent or occurring. Flash flooding is a life-threatening situation in which water levels rapidly rise.
At 5:34 p.m., radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area would likely produce 1 to 2 inches of rain in the next hour, and flash flooding was expected shortly, weather officials warned.
The flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, for the following:
