PERRY HALL, MD — The liquor license holders who had been running Hive Bistro transferred the license to the landlord recently. By unanimous vote, the Baltimore County Liquor Board approved the transfer.

Hive Bistro operated briefly in summer 2019 at the location at 9629 Belair Road.

"Pursuant to the lease the tenant was to transfer the liquor lease over to the landlord," attorney Brian Young said on behalf of his client, Belair Associates, before the liquor board recently.

"Hopefully this pandemic will clear up sometime soon, and they'll be able to find a new tenant," Young said.

In May 2019, Basta Pasta closed at the location after being in business about three years.

Before it was Basta Pasta, the restaurant had a brief stint as Tex-Mex eatery Cocina Diablos, which opened in 2015. Prior to that, it was Bill Bateman's, which opened in 2011 and replaced Damon's Grill.

Young said at the Dec. 7 liquor board hearing that he hoped "we'll get back in front of you sometime shortly" with a "new tenant ... able to operate at the location."
