Overnight Closures Planned Next Week on Beltway Inner Loop

Crews will demolish a bridge over the beltway as part of a $1.1 billion project.

Crews will close the inner loop of the Baltimore Beltway in the Perry Hall area during overnight hours much of next week.

The Baltimore Sun reports the closure will allow crews to demolish the last of the old interchange bridges near Interstate 95. The bridge used to carry I-95 traffic over the beltway.

The work is part of a $1.1 billion I-95 upgrade project, which includes electronic express toll lanes. Work is expected to be completed on the upgrades by next year.

The closures will start Sunday night and last through Thursday from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured to northbound I-95, westbound White Marsh Boulevard, then southbound I-95, where drivers will rejoin the inner loop, according to state transportation officials.
