Perry Hall Baptist Church to Open New Youth Center

Perry Hall's young people will have a new place to unwind come Sunday when Perry Hall Baptist Church officially opens its new youth center—The Refinery.

"We ran out of room in the church," youth pastor Dan Alban said, describing the need for the expanded 5,000-square foot space. "But it's not just for our church." 

Alban described a place where all young people, not just members of the church, were welcome—a place where teens could connect with friends in a safe, welcoming environment. 

So far, the building is composed of a lounge, game room, kitchenette and one large open mixed-use room. 

"There are a lot of ideas that we're tossing around," Alban said. 

The Perry Hall church broke ground on the youth center in May. 

"It moved very quickly," Alban said. He added that the work could not have been completed without the tremendous help from church volunteers. 

"Now we're at the place where we realize oh my goodness, it's built," Alban said.
