Perry Hall Farmer Named a Citizen of the Year
Baltimore County Councilman David Marks named Russell Berk one of the District 5 Citizens of the Year.

By Brian Hooks
Baltimore County Councilman David Marks named Perry Hall farmer and businessman Russell Berk a Citizen of the Year for District 5.
Since 2011, Marks has honored three citizens from around District 5 for their contributions to their communities.
Berk, owner of Chapel Hills Farm and Nursery, hosted the 2013 Perry Hall Apple Festival and donated the town's new Christmas tree.
"I am extraordinarily proud to honor Russell Berk for his many contributions to northeastern Baltimore County," Marks said in a statement. "Russell not only operates one of the most successful family businesses in Perry Hall, but he constantly helps with civic activities."
Additional Citizens of the Year will be named from the Loch Raven/Parkville area and Towson, according to Marks.
