"I am delighted that these important recreation and park projects are advancing in Perry Hall," Marks said. "The Gough Park improvements are occurring because of a generous $1.5 million contribution from the Perry Hall Recreation Council, one of the largest and strongest in Baltimore County.

"Since my election, I have repeatedly communicated the importance of this project to northeastern Baltimore County and am delighted it will become a reality," he continued.

The county will foot the balance of the gymnasium's cost, which totals $5.7 million.

"The completion of Gough Park has been one of my top priorities since I was President of the Perry Hall Improvement Association 10 years ago," Marks said.

"I want to thank the dozens of volunteers who have tirelessly raised funding for decades to build this gymnasium," he wrote in a statement. "Specifically, I thank Jerry Soukup, Bill Paulshock, and Paul Amirault who worked with my office and the administration to highlight the importance of this effort."

The trail through Indian Rock Park will be extended from Perry Hall High School to the developments at Silver Spring Road to the tune of approximately $250,000.

"It opens up Indian Rock Park," Marks said, noting that he hopes more Perry Hall residents will use the trail.
