Perry Hall Grad Stinebaugh in the Spotlight for Terps

Former Perry Hall High School football star Dave Stinebaugh is taking advantage of some national airtime as the starting tight end for the University of Maryland.

Stinebaugh, a senior, was sidelined his first two seasons for the Terps with injuries, and waited his turn behind older players last season, but now the job is all his, reports The Baltimore Sun.

Through seven games, Stinebaugh has pulled in 11 catches and two touchdowns for the 5-2 Maryand squad. Both scores came in nationally televised games against West Virginia University and the University of Virginia.

According to ESPN stats, Stinebaugh is fifth on the team in receiving yards, but his role could grow after Maryland's two leading receivers—Stefon Diggs and Deon Long—suffered season-ending injuries in the Oct. 19 game at Wake Forest.
