Perry Hall Man Earns Military Excellence Award

Ronnie Fowler. Jr finished top of his class after graduating from recruit training from Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois.

Perry Hall resident Ronnie Fowler Jr. is one of the top enlisted men in the United States Naval Service after graduating top in class from recruitment training. 

Fowler, who graduated from Perry Hall High School in 2010, earned the United States Military Excellence Award from the Naval Station Great Lakes, IL. He finished at the top of his class of 701 recruits. 

The commendation was presented to Fowler on June 14 for upholding the highest traditions of the U.S. Navy. 

The commendation, signed by Rear Admiral Dee Newbourne, reads:

"By virtue of his superior performance of duty from April to June 201, Seaman recruit Fowler has been selected to receive the Navy Club of the United States Military Excellence Award.

"This award is presented to the recruit whose total performance in recruit training best exemplifies the qualities of enthusiasm, professional and academic achievement, military appearance, self-discipline and teamwork. His efforts and accomplishments during recruit training have earned him the admiration and respect of the officers and staff at Recruit Training Command.

"I take great pleasure in commending his outstanding performance of duty. Seaman Recruit Fowler's exceptional ability and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
