Noon Year's Eve Party at Perry Hall Library

This takes place extra early, on the day before New Year's Eve. Kids can count down to the new year at this event for children, sponsored by the Friends of the Perry Hall Library. It's at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, at the Perry Hall Branch, 9685 Honeygo Boulevard, Perry Hall, MD 21128.

Noon Year's Eve on The Avenue at White Marsh

There will be a big countdown to 12 p.m. at this family-friendly event for those who want to celebrate the new year before it gets late. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and features live music for children. A ball will drop at noon at The Avenue, 8125 Honeygo Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21236.

New Year's Eve Bollywood Dhamaka (Dance) at Bombay Nights

The Indian restaurant is hosting a New Year's Eve party that starts at 9 p.m. featuring a Bollywood theme. There's a $34.99 grand buffet, with bring your own alcohol. The party, which includes a DJ and Bollywood and Bhangra music, takes place at Bombay Nights, 5007 Honeygo Center Drive, Perry Hall, MD 21128.

New Year's Eve at DeSantis' Pizza Grill and Bar

Enjoy live music while you eat, plus a special menu in addition to the regular one and a champagne toast at midnight at DeSantis' at 9638 Belair Road, Perry Hall, MD 21236.

Lib's Grill New Year's Eve

The restaurant is offering a special New Year's Eve menu at its location at 5009 Honeygo Center Drive, Perry Hall, MD 21128.

Gunpowder Lodge New Year's Eve

There will be live music at the lodge from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 10092 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD 21087.

First Day Hike: Little Gunpowder/Jerusalem Mill

The Friends of Jerusalem Mill will lead this 1.75-mile hike that is described as easy to moderate. The trail will take participants along the Little Gunpowder Falls along potentially wet, uneven terrain. Meet at the Blacksmith Shop (across from the gristmill) at Historic Jerusalem Mill Village before the hike, at 2813 Jerusalem Road, Kingsville, MD 21087. Wear clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather, and bring water. Call Gunpowder Falls State Park at 410-592-2897 to register. Leashed pets are welcome. Hikes are 10-11:30 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.

First Day Hike: Big Gunpowder

Start the year off on the right foot with an easy-to-moderate hike that is 2.5 miles. Led by the Maryland Conservation Corps, hikers will travel down the Lost Pond Trail to a scenic overlook of the Pot Rocks area. The water feature is on the Big Gunpowder Falls, according to Maryland parks officials. Participants should wear shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather and bring drinking water. No strollers are permitted on the hike, which starts at 1 p.m. Meet at the Big Gunpowder parking lot, 11159 Belair Road, Kingsville, MD 21087. Call Gunpowder Falls State Park at 410-592-2897 to register.

And even if there aren't any crazy celebrity snafus, you can count on inside views of Time Square packed with people, as well as awesome musical performances.

"New Year's Eve Live" With Anderson Cooper And Andy Cohen
Where to catch it: CNN starting at 8 p.m.
Why you should watch: For the first time ever, Anderson Cooper will host CNN's annual New Year's Eve Live special with none other than "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen. As these two are best friends in real life, you can expect tons witty banter and hilarious moments from the pair.
