Perry Hall Saw Busiest Polls In Baltimore County For Early Voting

Thousands voted early in Perry Hall, according to the latest data from the Maryland Board of Elections.

PERRY HALL, MD — More than 17,000 people cast their ballots at the Honeygo Run Community Center during early voting. It was the busiest polling place in Baltimore County during the early voting period, which ended Nov. 1, according to the Maryland Board of Elections.

There were 17,421 people who voted at Honeygo Run during early voting — from Oct. 25 through Nov. 1 — the state elections board reported.

Because it was such a hotspot for voters, Perry Hall also became a draw for the candidates.

Al Redmer, the Republican who is running for county executive and who grew up in Perry Hall, cast his ballot at Honeygo on Thursday, Nov. 1.

"Just voted early with my family at Honeygo Rec Center!" Redmer, the Maryland Insurance Commissioner, posted on Facebook. "Polls close at 8, get out there and vote!"

Democratic candidate for county executive Johnny Olszewski also made an appearance at the Honeygo Run Community Center to make a final push on the last day of early voting.


He had been in Perry Hall on Monday, Oct. 29, and met an 89-year-old who voted for the first time.


Olszewski was in Perry Hall for the first day of early voting on Thursday, Oct. 25, too:


He wasn't alone; Redmer was also there on the first day:


Redmer stumped with Gov. Larry Hogan on Tuesday in Perry Hall, according to WBAL. They also held a voter rally that day at Red Brick Station in White Marsh.


A total of 101,828 people voted early in Baltimore County, according to the Maryland Board of Elections.

Across the state, officials said more than 660,000 people participated in early voting.

Polls will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
