Proceeds from the race day will benefit the Perry Hall Athletics Boosters Club.

What’s harder? Running four miles. Or running 400 feet, in high heels?
Registration is now open for the inaugural White Marsh 4 fun run and fund-raiser for the Perry Hall Athletics Boosters Club.
Race day has been scheduled for Sept. 14 at 7:30 a.m., to coincide with Perry Hall High School’s 50th anniversary celebration.

"Education is an important initiative at White Marsh. This event allows us to embrace the community connection with Perry Hall High School and to create a fun and memorable race that supports the local educational and athletic futures of the children in our community," Annie Wildasin, senior marketing manager, White Marsh Mall, said in a release.
Proceeds raised from the event will directly benefit both short and long-term financial goals for the athletics boosters.

Club president Tony Taylor said the run will first benefit the completion of the new scoreboard, which will be erected sometime before the school’s Homecoming, Taylor said. The club raised $55,000, approximately half of the estimated cost for the new scoreboard. The remaining $55,000 will be matched by state funding.
“But there is still a lot of work to do,” Taylor added.
Future goals include restrooms facilities near the stadium, running water to the concessions stand, a turf field surface and better irrigation for the lower level fields.
Interested runners can sign up for one of four races:
- 4 Mile Race
- 4 x 1 Mile Relay
- .4 Mile Kids Run
- 400 Foot High Heel Race
"This partnership between White Marsh Mall and Perry Hall High School is exactly the kind of collaboration we need to generate resources in tough times,” Councilman David Marks said in a release. “The proceeds will help Perry Hall High School and its very worthwhile recreation program."
