Retail Center in Development on Campbell Blvd

"Any info on what is going in across from Target on Campbell Blvd.?"

"Quick question for you! Do you have any idea what KINSLEY is building across from Target on Campbell Boulevard & Franklin Square Drive?"

"I see there starting to do some field work across from Target and Dicks on Campbell Blvd. Do you know if they are about to development the land or what there doing with it???"

You asked. So we did a little digging.

The property along Campbell Boulevard, near Franklin Square Drive is currently being developed for a retail space similar in scope to the lot across the street that features a Target, Lowes and Panera Bread.

A representative from developer Corporate Office Properties Trust did not immediately return calls seeking comment, however Councilwoman Cathy Bevin's senior legislative adviser J.B. Osborne did provide some insight.

The property was rezoned "to complement what they have across the street," Osborne said.

The lot will feature a combination or large retail anchors and pad sites.

It is believed that the developer is "working out leases right now," Osborne said.

Osborne said that initial talks about the project pointed to the possibilities of a Royal Farms combination gas station/convenience store as well as a large-scale hand-wash car washing center, which would be built at the corner of Campbell Boulevard and Franklin Square Drive.

The other business believed to already be in the works for the other side of the property is an athletics club or rather a large gym, Osborne said.
