UPDATED: Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect for 2 Counties
Baltimore and Harford counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning, with potential for falling trees, hail, strong wind gusts.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for parts of Baltimore and Harford counties Saturday until 6:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued the warning at 5:30 p.m., when a severe thunderstorm was spotted over Middle River and extended the warning until 6:45 p.m. after a severe thunderstorm was seen in the Essex or Back River areas just before 6 p.m.
There is potential for quarter-size hail and 60 mph wind gusts, weather officials say. Trees and large branches may fall, possibly causing power outages.

People should go inside to protect themselves from lightning and falling branches. If in an area with large trees, people should go downstairs on the lowest floor. Drivers should not go under trees or in wooded areas until the warning period is over, according to officials.

A flash flood warning is in effect for part of Baltimore County as well until 8:30 p.m.
Northeastern Baltimore County has seen up to 3 inches of rain fall by 5:32 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which reported flash flooding was expected shortly.
Weather officials said flooding was anticipated to hit Middle River, Essex, Rossville, Bowleys Quarters and Martin State Airport.
Drivers who see flooded roads should turn around; don't drown.
