Sgt. Eric Houck Of Perry Hall Memorialized With Full Military Honors
The funeral service for the 25-year-old soldier and Perry Hall High School alumnus was attended by loved ones, comrades and a country star.

FORT CAMPBELL, KY — A Perry Hall graduate was remembered at a service packed with family and fellow soldiers by his side, as a country music star reportedly sang a tribute in the Kentucky chapel.
Sgt. Eric Houck, 25, was memorialized with full military honors Tuesday at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he had been assigned.
Houck was killed June 10 in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan while serving Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

His wife Samantha Houck said the death of her husband, her high school sweetheart at Perry Hall, was "devastating," leaving her "lost but mostly proud," according to The Tennesseean.
Billy Ray Cyrus performed "Some Gave All" during Tuesday's service, the newspaper reported.

"Being in that chapel - you realize it's not just the man in the uniform who gave all. It's also the wife, mother, father - everyone," Cyrus wrote on Twitter. "The family makes a sacrifice, too. I felt humbled in their presence. It was a room full of bravery."

In honor of Houck, Gov. Larry Hogan ordered the U.S. and Maryland flags flown at half-staff on Tuesday, June 20.
